I had to learn how to cook from scratch, without gluten, dairy or sugar when a family member became ill. I learnt about food intolerances and how adopting a ‘clean’ diet could make the whole family stronger. I spent months sourcing suppliers and testing recipes. Before children I worked long hours in television and left the cooking to my husband, as I believed he was a ‘natural’ cook. Slowly I gained confidence and realized anyone can cook from scratch! I was determined to simplify cooking and save time whenever I could - no mum has hours to waste in the kitchen! Changing a child’s diet is never easy. However we have now created recipes that they love, as do our friends and family. We have been on GAPS and been grain free and now eat a wider range of food. We have learnt that there is no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition, even within a family. So this blog is not about pushing a particularly eating philosophy. It's about sharing recipes, research and information to help people keep to a ‘clean diet’ whilst coping with the pressures of busy family life!
